Thomas Melczer

Thomas Melczer was appointed CEO of Proton in August 2008. In this position he is in charge of the strategic leadership of the company. The main focus of his work will be the industrialization of the company’s products as well as the expansion and the consolidation of the worldwide sales network.

Mr. Melczer has more than twenty years of international industrial experience in sales and production. Before joining Proton Motor, he spent seven years as Vice President Sales at the British company Chloride, which operates on the energy market. Before that, he was employed by Siemens AG for over 20 years where he held numerous positions, including managing director of a subsidiary. In 2007 he founded SPower Holding GmbH, a company offering solutions for uninterruptible power supply.

Achim Loecher

Achim Loecher is with Proton Motor since June 2007. As CFO of the company he is responsible for the divisions finance, controlling, treasury and human resource management. Achim Loecher has many years of expertise in the field of finances and furthermore possesses broad experiences in operational and strategic corporation management, fund raising, initial public offering, pre- & post-merger management as well as management consultancy.

Prior to joining Proton Motor Achim Loecher worked for over 15 years in international and national companies as manager and Member of the Board. His main fields of business activities were primarily commercial direction and business management as well as the responsibility for the divisions finance and accounting, controlling, treasury and human resource management.

Achim Loecher studied business management at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich and started his business career in 1988 as financial analyst for Digital Equipment Corporation in Munich.

Dr. Christian Meyne, Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Christian Meyne

Dr. Christian Meyne has a strong background in project management and has been with Proton Motor since April 2009. He has primary responsibility for production processes including planning, controlling, service, IT and quality management as well as for the technical production lines necessary for both current and future production levels.

In the almost 3 years prior to Proton Motor, Dr. Christian Meyne served as program manager with the Qimonda AG. He was responsible for product development, qualification, marketintroduction up to first small volume production for several memory-module-portfolios. Prior to that period he was a development engineer for 5 years with the Infineon Technologies AG.

Dr. Christian Meyne holds a degree in physics and a Ph.D. in solid state physics from the Technical University of Berlin.

Bernhard Wolshofer, Head of Sales & Marketing

Bernhard Wolshofer

Bernhard Wolshofer has extensive experience in sales of high investment goods for the machinery and automotive industry.
Since 1st October 2009 he is responsible for sales, business development and marketing at Proton Motor.

Prior to joining Proton Motor Bernhard Wolshofer worked 25 years at Siemens AG at the industrial automation and drive technology, most recently as Vice President Sales at the Munich subsidiary. During his tenure at Siemens, he spent several years as bureau chief in Tokyo, Japan, responsible for cooperation with Japanese companies. As a department head in the production plant for the automotive industry, he was responsible for major projects at the customer Audi AG and Daimler AG in Germany and abroad.

Bernhard Wolshofer studied electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart, where he worked after graduation as a research associate at the Institute for Electrical Machines and Drives, and has lived there back in the seventies, dealing with electrical drives for heavy vehicles.
